If you suffer from migraine headaches, you're not alone. About 12 percent of the U.S. population gets them. Migraines are recurring attacks of moderate to severe pain. Crisis hipertensiva

Puntos clave La crisis hipertensiva es una elevación aguda de la presión arterial (PA) capaz de producir lesiones en órganos diana. Según la presencia o no de esta afectación, se clasifica en emergencia hipertensiva (EH) o urgencia hipertensiva (UH), respectivamente. Debe interrogarse al paciente sobre la existencia previa de hipertensión arterial (HA) y adherencia al tratamiento, ya que una de sus causas frecuentes es el abandono terapéutico. Las UH pueden iniciarse sin o con síntomas. Los más frecuentes son: cefalea, mareo, palpitaciones, epistaxis. En las EH hay percepción de compromiso vital del paciente y requieren traslado urgente al hospital. Aunque es fundamental confirmar las cifras elevadas de PA, la gravedad de la situación debe ser valorada por la afectación de órganos diana y no por las cifras tensionales exclusivamente.
